This horse had a lesion that was infected with a fungus like organism called “Pythium insidiosum” this organism is very difficult if not impossible to treat. The only known effective treatment is surgical resection, because of the location of the lesion this was the treatment choice in this case. The lesion was surgically resected using electrocaudery and then the underlying tissue bed was treated with a YAG laser. After surgery the site was treated with vet aid spray until it scabbed over then it was treated adjunctively with the spray and foam. This horse was then sent home to recover. Two months later this lesion was completely healed. The owners were very pleased with the ease of treatment and the horse tolerated the treatment very well. Lesion treated with Vet Aid infected ovariohysterectomy treated with Vet Aid This dog underwent an ovariohysterectomy (spay) surgery and got an incision infection, she was then sent home with Vet aid.
